- Admin access to an Okta org
Supported Features
- Service Provider (SP)-Initiated Authentication (SSO) Flow - this authentication flow occurs when the user attempts to log in to the application from Syntinels
- JIT (Just in time Provisioning): Automatically creates user accounts in Syntinels when Single-Sign-On is initiated by your Okta users
- User Federation, role management, etc. are not supported. Users and their Syntinels roles must still be managed from the Syntinels settings page.
Configuration Steps
- In Okta, go to
Applications
→ Browse App Catalog
- Search and add
Syntinels
- Gather information from Okta:
- In the Okta admin page, click on the Syntinels application and then navigate to the
Sign On
tab
- Copy the values of
client ID
and client secret
(click the eye button to toggle the visibility
- Get your Okta domain (should look like example.okta.com)
- Send the information to Syntinels (your customer success manager)
- Provide Syntinels with the
email domain(s)
(e.g. @syntinels.com) your users will log in with (we need this to redirect your users to the correct Okta login)

Logging Into Syntinels Using Okta
- Go to https://app.syntinels.com/
- Enter your email and confirm - you should be forwarded to your Okta organization
- Enter your password and confirm
